I photographed Voke and Bernel's beautiful destination wedding back in February. The ceremony and reception all took place at Casa China Blanca sitting high atop a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Punta de Mita, Mexico. Voke, who was born in Nigeria, included plenty of familial flare throughout the day. Voke’s jewelry was handmade by her cousin, and the traditional Nigerian wedding outfits of her extended family really popped in the bright Mexican sunshine and contrasted with the modern white walls of the villa.
Perhaps most important in their day, were Voke and Bernel's emphasis on their family. The couple's four young children were active participants throughout the day, during the ceremony, and even at night, running around the dance floor with rainbow-lollipop stained faces.
Thanks to Ulises Guerrero for second shooting with me, and thanks to Mishka of Mishka Designs for being a spectacularly cheery individual, as usual. Mishka not only designed everything but coordinated the day as well.
